what is the Pen Pal project?
The pen pal project is a little project started by ARMY and for ARMY. Our goal is to connect ARMY from all over the world but also locally through "classic" letter writing. We want to rekindle the appreciation of receiving a personal letter in the mailbox from someone far away, maybe even forge new, long lasting friendships.
Most importantly, this is just for fun and to connect with people <3
FAQ
1. Can we do the project through E-Mail as well?
Yes! That's no problem at all. We will ask you to specify which method you prefer in the E-Mail sent out to collect your adress and preferences and you will be paired accordingly.
2. Will you do a good screening before exchanging the adresses?
We will implement some terms and conditions everyone has to agree to before they can take part. If someone ignores the rules, they'll be kicked from the program and blocked from participating again.
3. Are there older ARMYS (30+) participating as well?
Yes! Age is no issue at all. We already got a wide age range and will make sure everyone will be partnered with someone they're comfortable with.
4. How will the partnering happen?
We will check for regional preferences first and then take age into consideration. We will also take a look at hobbies and interests and make sure none clash too hard, but they don't play as big of a role as regional preferences.
5. What will happen if a pal misuses my personal information?
People who misuse the information given will be kicked from the program, blocked from participating again and depending on your countries law, you can also take legal action.
6. Can I change pals after a while?
While it is our goal to pair you up with someone fitting, it might still happen to not work out. You are able to request a new match as a pair (so both of you should agree on it) if it doesn't work out and we will rematch you
7. How can i get in touch with you if I have questions/concerns/suggestions?
You can DM us on twitter (@BtsPals) or send us am E-Mail ([email protected]) as well. Both ways work and we will reply as fast as for us possible.
8. How long does it take to get paired after signing up?
It depends on the situation. If there's someone free or willign to take more than one pal, it might be very quick. If you have specific preferences and no one meets those, you might have to wait a bit until someone else signs up. Also keep in mind that due to our real life resposibilities we might not be able to immediately work on your request.
9. I signed up for multiple pals but got paired with only one, why?
It might have not worked out perfectly at first, but you might get a second pal if someone new signs up or asks for a rematch. We will try to give multiple pals to the people who requested it.
10. Is there an age restriction for joining the pen pal project?
Yes. Due to you giving out personal information, we decided to restrict to the minimim age of 18
11. Is there a deadline for signing up?
No. You can sign up whenever you want to, the form won't be closed anytime soon.
